About Ari Shine
Hello Fellow Explorer!
What a beautiful place to meet. A place of inner exploration, and curiosity into our miraculous Self and the world at large. Psychedelic Medicine has this powerful way to catalyze our healing process when properly prepared, supported and held. It is with great joy and humbleness that I meet you as an ally in your journey home.
My own journey on the healing path has been an important one from early on. The desire to understand how to be joyous started at age 5. I became aware of the negative emotions that existed in my family. In my mid-teens, the book Autobiography of a Yogi planted a seed and an ongoing desire to learn the spiritual knowledge of the East. Upon meeting a Mahatma (Enlightened Being) in my early 20’s my healing journey truly began. However, I was quick to learn the spiritual principles I so desired to embody would take time and effort. After spending time in India and abroad, I returned to the USA. I began my work as a Crisis Specialist at a Suicide Prevention Hotline.
As a Crisis Specialist, I later trained in trauma resolution through Peter Levin’s Somatic Experiencing work. I had frontline insight into the depth of trauma and hardship that ravages the Western population. I learned about the impact that early trauma has on our adult psyche, and how, when our nervous system’s response to threat is not properly supported, it can continue to act up for years even when the original threat is long past. This can have a tremendous impact on our ability to move forward in the way we so desire.
With whomever I work with, I share the knowledge that has been gifted to me. The knowledge of how to release the ongoing effects of trauma from the past, to support restoring the body and mind to their natural state of openness, relaxed presence and curiosity. I offer the knowledge taught to me by plant medicine. Along with important harm reduction knowledge of the West, to guide you through a beneficial outcome of your journey’s process.
During my time off, you’ll find me singing sacred plant medicine songs with friends or spending some inner time walking in nature. I’m currently calling in a therapy puppy to join our family!
Ari Shine's approach to integration
I started this journey wanting to make my life happy and free of challenges. I now see the path of healing as a gentle one. That is ever unfolding slowly but surely over time when we stick to it. I have found that being able to slow down, come to my own process through gentle curiosity and warmth, creating weekly rituals for my inner healing process have become important habits on my journey home.
My approach to supporting you is first meeting you where you are at and then taking the next step together. This can look a handful of ways depending on where you are on your journey of healing. If you are just starting out, we will talk about preparation specific to your needs and background. If you are about to head into a journey, we will check to make sure your outer and inner worlds are all aligned and ready to go. If you are coming back from a journey, this can look like making meaning of the experience, working to continue the healing process of something that arose, or grounding in the insights from the journey into your daily living. I may offer an ongoing practice based on our sessions together.
I prioritize creating a container of safety for you to show up exactly how you are with, where you are at. I work in a very somatic body-oriented way. Allowing your own natural body intelligence to show us the path towards the next step of your healing. In our own body’s nervous system, we hold the key to much of our healing. I work deeply with the reintegration of proper boundaries, empowerment, sovereignty, and agency in the healing process. I will use Attachment Work for relational healing and Internal Family Systems for childhood healing.
