About Emma Dean
As an integrative transpersonal practitioner and hypnotherapist, I am dedicated to using my therapeutic skills to guide others through their process of self-discovery, healing and awakening, which I know can often feel like a lonely road. My studies have led me to research the benefits of hypnotherapy for psychedelic preparation and integration through a study on using non-ordinary states of consciousness to integrate non-ordinary states experienced with psychedelics. I have also written an essay on what helped me to integrate my own challenging psychedelic experiences through a model that unfolded organically. The six pillars of the model for integrating ontological shock include Spirituality, Education, Mindfulness, Philosophy, Nature and Community. In line with this, I run online integration circles for Mother’s House, a non-profit retreat centre in Holland, as well as online meditation and breathwork circles, which are powerful tools for preparation, integration, spiritual exploration and self-discovery. I regularly assist in facilitating psilocybin and ayahuasca group retreats, utilising my skills as a space-holder, breathwork facilitator and hypnotherapist. I also volunteer for PsyCare UK, helping festival goers navigate challenging psychedelic experiences.
I have been passionate about helping others and felt a spiritual connection from a very young age. My curious mind led me to study Philosophy at degree level and in a previous life I was a fundraiser for local community organisations. My personal experiences with integrating challenging experiences include ontological shock from an NN-DMT experience as well as an unintentional kundalini awakening that unfolded as a result of years of spiritual practices and emerged during a psilocybin retreat. Spirituality is a meaningful part of my life, and I maintain a daily practice that reflects my personal beliefs and values including daily meditation, journaling, prayer and nature connectedness. I love exploring dream work and following the teachings of Carl Jung. I am keen to support clients in developing their own spiritual connection in whatever way feels right for them. I have personally explored Christianity, Buddhism, Ancient Egyptian mythology, shamanism, hermetic teachings and esotericism.
In my work as an integrative practitioner, I have supported clients in their healing journeys through issues such as; anxiety, depression, relationships and heartbreak, overcoming addictions and habits, fears and phobias, past traumas, grief, insomnia, increasing confidence and self-esteem, integrating psychedelic experiences as well as exploring healing through past life regressions.
Emma Dean's approach to integration
I have personally experienced psychedelic integration coaching with different coaches, and whilst my therapists were supportive, some were unable to provide the spiritual guidance that I desperately needed. Grounding and embodying psychedelic insights and experiences are vital, but I believe that incorporating the spiritual significance of altered states is just as important.
My approach to psychedelic preparation and integration is very much person-centred and holistic, supporting the mind, body and soul. The core of my approach is being a compassionate and non-judgemental witness, allowing you to be seen and heard, to tell your story to someone who will receive it with respect and an open heart. Providing guidance and support as you navigate the path of healing and transformation, with all of its ups and downs. Depending on your personal challenges and goals and where you are in your journey, we will use different tools and techniques to prepare for and integrate emotional or spiritual experiences and insights to make transformational and lasting changes. The techniques we might use include:
grounding, breathwork techniques, meditation, mindfulness, self-care, movement, journaling, EFT (tapping), neuro-linguistic programming, hypnotherapy, dream exploration, inner child and inner critic work, connecting with your higher self, intention setting, defining values, spiritual coaching, acceptance and commitment therapy, gestalt therapy, chakra clearing and energy work.
I provide resources such as a journaling guide and recordings of hypnosis sessions or guided meditations as well as links to communities, videos, books and podcasts that may help to support you.
I encourage clients to listen to their own inner wisdom about what they need, to empower you on your journey. I truly believe that you are your own expert – you are the medicine!
