About Vanessa Maier
Sometimes the most meaningful experiences are also the hardest to talk about – especially when they don’t fit neatly into everyday life.
I’m Vanessa, a qualified and registered psychologist and psychotherapist with over 10 years’ experience, and more recently specialising in the integration of non-ordinary experiences. I work with adults across the UK and EU, offering online 1:1 sessions to support preparation, integration, and ongoing inner work.
\My interest in this work comes from a long-standing curiosity about how people make meaning of their lives; especially through experiences that are hard to name, measure, or explain. Over time, I’ve come to value the kind of connection that allows people to be more fully themselves – where insight can unfold at its own pace, and something meaningful can take root without being forced.
Some people arrive at this space feeling unsettled or unsure how to process a recent experience. Others might be sitting with questions, insights, or emotional material that’s hard to make sense of alone. You may be feeling overwhelmed, or simply curious about what’s unfolding. Whatever brings you here, I offer a space to explore what’s emerging, without pressure, and at your own pace.
My approach is flexible and responsive. I draw on clinical training, depth psychology, somatic awareness, and creative tools – integrating them as needed, based on what’s emerging in the moment. Clients often describe the space as safe, real, and respectful, and have shared that they feel more able to speak freely, trust themselves more deeply, and move forward with a clearer sense of direction.
If this speaks to where you are, you’re welcome to reach out with questions or to arrange an initial session.
Vanessa Maier's approach to integration
Integration begins with attention – to what happened, how it’s settling in your body and mind, and what it might be asking of you now.
Some people seek out this support because they are feeling unsettled or overwhelmed. Others arrive with a sense of clarity or insight they want to hold onto and nurture – something they know matters, but that risks fading without support. Whether you’re navigating challenges or wanting to sustain growth, integration offers a way to stay close to what’s unfolding, and to live with more awareness, agency, and intention.
The work can begin even before a journey. Thoughtful preparation helps to shape not just what happens during the experience, but how it’s received and carried forward. In our work together, preparation might include intention-setting, clarifying expectations, building emotional resources, or identifying patterns that may surface during the experience itself.
I see integration as a process of slowing down, noticing, and allowing insight to unfold over time. My role is to support you in exploring what’s come up, grounding it in your own language and values, and beginning to live in closer alignment with what feels meaningful and true to you.
I draw from a range of clinical, relational, and depth-based approaches – including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and process-oriented work – alongside somatic and creative methods when supportive. These are used intuitively, based on what feels most helpful to you in the moment.
Clients have described my approach as warm, compassionate, and steady, with the willingness to gently challenge when it serves your growth – helping you recognise what may be holding you back and supporting change where it’s most needed.
Integration work can help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to live in a way that reflects what matters most to you.
